The Lazy Cow Ice Cream Parlor was founded in June 2020, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. The founder, Amanda Franklin, felt that the world needed something to smile about during this time and couldn’t think of a better way to bring joy to our community than to add a much-needed ice cream parlor. Through the challenges of the build-out and COVID-19, Amanda and her husband pushed until they had their Grand Opening on September 20, 2020 – and what a success it was!

Amanda's vision for The Lazy Cow is to build a brand recognized for it's delicious ice cream and wonderful guest experience.

Owner & Operator

Amanda Franklin

Lover of all things ice cream! Amanda opened The Lazy Cow right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic because she knew people needed something nostalgic to bring them joy. She truly believes ice cream is the happiest food on Earth & is passionate about spreading happiness by serving delicious, super-premium flavors! Amanda loves serving the community by volunteering & fundraising for various causes.

General Manager

Kyle Franklin

Addicted to sweets and a jack of all trades, makes Kyle an invaluable team player! He has worked behind the scenes since 2020, completing the buildout of the West Point parlor and ensuring the Mechanicsville parlor was up to Amanda's standards upon opening day. Kyle recently made the decision to come to the forefront of the parlors, as The Lazy Cow continues to grow. Outside of the parlor, Kyle enjoys hunting and fishing!
